Gayle Hatch Weightlifting Team honored
On July 18, 1990, the House of Representatives of the Louisiana
Legislature on motion of
Representative Donald Ray Kennard, presented the Gayle Hatch Weightlifting
Team a
Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for their success in Olympic-style
weightlifting.
Representative Kennard stated that at a time when Louisiana is suffering
from image
problems, Coach Hatch and his athletes are a "shining light." The Gayle
Hatch
Weightlifting Team recently won the U.S. Nationals, National Juniors
(17-19), National Juniors (14-16), National Masters and the
American Championships.
